Europe's top security organizations join forces
Four major security clusters in Europe launch the Security Innovation Network SIGNATURE to increase the competitiveness of enterprises and organisations in North-Western Europe. SIGNATURE's members are SITC (UK), SYSTEM@TIC Paris Region (France), LSEC (Belgium), nGage (UK) and TeleTrusT (Germany). Jointly, these clusters gather over 1,000 companies from all over the world – including Thales, SAGEM, Zetes, Vasco, McAfee, Sophos, Unisys and Dimension Data – with an enormous expertise in security. They are accompanied by a number of innovative start-up's, top researchers and academic experts. The project is supported through the European Regional Development Fund.

Infosecurity Flyers to use and distribute
LSEC created some basic awareness flyers for people and companies to use for their internal awareness activities. Both in Dutch and French, they provide some basic guidance and information on some important security challenges. Over 92% of the worldwide email traffic analyzed by Barracuda was defined as spam. Only about 6.5% of email were considered to be legitimate messages. Also, the Twitter Crime Rate reached an astonishing 12% in October 2009, meaning that about 1 in 8 twitter accounts was somehow malicious. Read more about these and other potential threats in the
